As founder and president of the Nishkian firms – Nishkian Menninger, Nishkian Dean, Nishkian Monks and Nishkian Chamberlain – Levon Nishkian has been a prominent structural engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than three decades. In 1989, under the name Nishkian & Associates, he re-opened the firm his grandfather, and father before him, had established. In 1998 the firm’s name was changed to Nishkian Menninger. In February 23, 2019 the four Nishkian offices joined IMEG Corp. Nishkian’s vision, strong leadership, entrepreneurial skills, and specific focus toward client service have been instrumental in establishing the Nishkian firms as recognized leaders of structural design services throughout the West and beyond. He is a former member of the Board of Director’s of Fort Mason and the Council of Directors of the Yosemite Fund, as well as the former Chairman of the Retirement Fund of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Nishkian is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California, the American Concrete Institute, the Society of American Military Engineers, and the Consulting Engineers Association of California. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona.
Kevin L. Menninger

Kevin Menninger has over 35 years of experience in structural engineering. In 1989, he joined Levon Nishkian in establishing Nishkian & Associates; the firm’s name was changed to Nishkian Menninger in 1998. The combination of Menninger’s strong structural engineering background and reputation, along with his expertise and experience, have been major contributions to the quality of performance and product that has earned the firm’s reputation among clients for reliability, innovation, and cost-effectiveness. Menninger is also a LEED Accredited Professional with years of knowledge and experience in the green/environmental aspects of the building profession. He is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California and the Earthquake Engineering Research institute. Menninger holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic University.
Edwin T. Dean

Edwin Dean is Vice President, Managing Principal, and one of the founders of Nishkian Dean. He has extensive experience in structural engineering and project management with more than twenty five years of skilled consulting practice. rior to establishing Dean Engineering in 1998 and Nishkian Dean in 1999, he actively participated in the design of hundreds of commercial, institutional and industrial projects. Many of these projects featured designs that required specialized consideration of detailed technical issues and the complex project management of a concerted engineering effort and other challenges. Dean has also consulted on the evaluation and structural assessment of more than 40 structures throughout the western United States included within the umbrella of principal industries served by his firm. Dean is the past Chairman and Founder of the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon, Inc., a member of the Charles Pankow Foundation Advisory Board, was appointed by the Mayor to serve on the City of Portland’s Structural Advisory Committee, is a former board member of the National Institute of Building Sciences, Building Seismic Safety Council, is a past President of the Applied Technology Council, and is a former member of the Oregon Seismic Policy Advisory Committee. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree from the University of Washington.

Ty Monks is the Vice President, Managing Principal, and one of the founding partners of Nishkian Monks, PLLC, located in Bozeman, Montana. He is a registered professional engineer, a LEED Accredited Professional, and has practiced structural engineering since 1997. As the Principal-in-Charge in Bozeman, Monks oversees design, project management, and contractual obligations to clients in the Rocky Mountain region. He is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations at Nishkian Monks, and is actively involved with all projects in the Bozeman office. Monks has extensive experience in wood, steel and concrete design. His wide range of experience can also be measured in terms of scale of projects, diversity of work, and people/office management. Monks’ careful consideration to details and his attentive and responsive service have earned him a reputation of continual excellence. Monks is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Council of Engineering Companies, International Code Council, and the Green Building Certification Institute. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the University of California in Berkeley. Monks also holds a Master of Architecture degree, and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering degree from the University of California in Berkeley.

Craig Chamberlain is the Vice President, Managing Principal, and one of the founding partners of Nishkian Chamberlain, Inc. located in Los Angeles, California. He is a registered professional Civil and Structural Engineer with over eighteen years of experience in the construction industry. Chamberlain has a wide range of experience from hundreds of projects in residential, commercial, and industrial fields which also include expertise working with California DSA- and OSHPD-regulated projects. Chamberlain is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California and recently served on their Board of Directors from 2010-12. He has also been a steering committee member of SEAOSC’s annual Building at Risk Summit as well as a member of the Existing Building Committee and SEAOC Convention committees. Chamberlain holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
