Our Los Angeles office is happy to announce we’re growing to serve the needs of our clients and community. Please join us in welcoming four new additions to the Nishkian Chamberlain team – Inez Koe, Matthew Graham, Austin Perrin and Antonio (Tony) Lazar.
At Nishkian Chamberlain we strive to build trust and to develop long lasting relationships with our clients and teammates. So… we dug a little deeper to learn more about them on a personal level.
Inez Koe, S.E. joined Nishkian Chamberlain as a Senior Project Engineer this past year. Inez received both her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Masters of Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials from the University of California, Berkeley. She brings over 9 years of experience in structural analysis, design and project delivery with specialization in earthquake-resistant design of reinforced concrete and steel structures and has worked on projects in commercial, education, entertainment and sports sectors in North America and Middle East. When asked, if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? She chose: Indomie Mi Goreng. Her favorite book is The Golden Compass. She grew up in Makassar, Indonesia. She is most amazed by: Amazon, especially the reviews/forums. A Super Power she wishes she could have right now, is to be able to fly so she doesn’t have to sit in traffic.
Matthew Graham, E.I.T. was hired by Nishkian Chamberlain as a full-time staff engineer. Matthew received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. Prior to receiving his Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Matthew served as a Geospatial Engineer for the California Army National Guard designing maps for mission analysis and performed research for commanders regarding mission intelligence. His favorite quote is: “I’m not locked in here with you! You’re locked in here with me!” – Rorschach of the Watchman. His favorite book or movie is: The Count of Monte Cristo. His dream vacation is two months in Brazil, starting from the interior of the Amazon, out to the coast, then down throughout the country. He was brave enough to share that his celebrity crush is Anne Hathaway. When asked, What would be the first thing you would buy if you won the Lottery? He said: “Nothing! I would be very secretive and go back to work without telling anyone.”
Austin Perrin, E.I.T., is currently pursuing his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering; Structural and Earthquake Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated in June of 2017 from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Austin worked as an Associate Engineer for The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California developing and maintaining structural inspection scopes of work for contracted structural inspections and provided general quality engineering support to engineering, maintenance, shops and operations, as required. He is excited to continue his education, and gain experience in the structural engineering field. When Austin was around kindergarten age, he dreamed of being a garbage truck driver! “I was fascinated by trucks and heavy-duty vehicles like those used for construction and would see the garbage truck outside my house every week.” His dream vacation would be to take half a year to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. He is most amazed by nature, especially mountain views. His biggest pet peeve is when someone says they have to tell you something, but then says “Never mind.” College Football is Austin’s favorite sport.
Tony Lazar with over 20 years of drafting experience, brings his 13 + years of expertise with Revit and AutoCAD to Nishkian Chamberlain. Tony has stepped right in to collaborate with our engineers to produce quality construction drawings and deliver them on time. Tony earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Philippines, where he grew up. His experience with drafting High-Rise buildings, Wood over Concrete Podium, Retrofit, and Residential projects is invaluable to our team. Tony is an avid cyclist and reader of inspirational books from well-known authors … he can even build a bike from scratch. When asked for three words to best describe himself, he said: “Biker, family guy, Christian”. He looks forward to meeting other Nishkian employees in the near future.
