Mixed Use Design: Valley Boulevard in the City of San GabrielJul 22 2014 · 0 comments · Mixed-Use, Nishkian Chamberlain ·0
Nishkian Chamberlain is proud to be working with Kollin Altomare Architects on a new mixed-use development along the Valley Boulevard Corridor in San Gabriel, California.
The City of San Gabriel and Valley Boulevard in particular, has become a thriving area for development in recent years. One of Kollin Altomare Architects latest projects, in conjunction with Chateau Operating Corporation and Nishkian Chamberlain, is a mixed-use development in the City of San Gabriel on a site included in the Valley Boulevard Specific Plan.
While mixed-use development is not a new concept in the design and engineering field, it is constantly changing. Unlike other developments which tend to keep residential and business areas separated, a mixed-use development offer residents and tenants the ability to feel connected to their neighbors and neighborhood. The modern mixed-use development offers the feel of a small town in the middle of a larger city.
The proposed project includes residences, office space, and retail, connected by a combination of outdoor arcade space and indoor corridors. High-end shopping, residential services, and dining opportunities are planned for the more than 79,000 square feet of retail space included in the development. The project’s residential space includes 85 residential condominium units of various unit mixes. To support the retail, office and residential components, nearly 500 parking spaces will be provided at grade and in two levels of subterranean parking. All together the project will exceed 400,000 square feet of building area. You can find more information on this project at Kollin Altomare’s page:
