Equinox Fitness Clubs: Achieving the Extraordinary with a Leading Fitness and Lifestyle CompanyMay 27 2014 · 0 comments · Nishkian Chamberlain, Tenant Improvement ·0
With more than 60 locations in the United States, Equinox Fitness Clubs are creating an integrated approach to the well-balanced life – from personal training to group fitness to rejuvenating wellness treatments in major metropolitan locations. Nishkian Chamberlain has engineered a large number of these locations in the Southern California area and across the country.
These locations were once restaurants or office buildings which Equinox designed into high-end specialized fitness clubs. The prime locations feature designs with local flavor while keeping true to the unifying elements that make each Equinox distinct yet the same. Intensive tenant improvements are performed by the design teams at each location. Most clubs incorporate multiple floors, new stairwells & elevators, new pool & spa areas, weight training and fitness machine areas as well as other fitness club activities. Tenant improvement work involving the structural engineer can include things such as providing new occupancy live load analysis and retrofit, floor strengthening to support new pools and spas, architectural staircase and floor opening designs, elevator support, façade redesign, rooftop strengthening for new mechanical units, and specialized equipment support/restraint. All of these items provide a unique challenge at each new club.
The South Bay location was engineered to incorporate natural light, a new rooftop pool and spa, a new entryway staircase and floor opening, redesigned facade and a new rooftop basketball court.
The Westlake Village Club incorporated walls of natural light, new stair wells and elevators.
From the most simple to the highly complicated Tenant Improvement designs our Nishkian engineers can make your visions a reality. Give us a call and let’s get started.
